What is Quiet time and how can I do it?
Quiet time is when you sit down and have a lovely moment with yourself. It does not need to be meditation, it’s ok if thoughts come and go. Quiet time is making time in your life for gaps, for nothing, for dreaming, for idling time away. We spend so much time in today’s world being busy, doing, achieving, striving and that is great. And to do that, there needs to be time in your day for not doing that! You are not and never will be a machine. Even five minutes of relaxing quietly, breathing deeply and allowing nothingness will massively benefit your wellbeing. I have fond that simply 5-10 minutes of lying down and breathing deeply in the middle of the day sets me up for a fantastic afternoon. And this can be done at any time in the day if you need it.
How can it benefit me?
I know from my experience that Quiet Time will greatly benefit you in your life.
I have found in my life that my stress levels will go down with constant daily Quiet Time. Also, it will allow things that linger in the back of your mind to come forward. You will make time for your dreams and the things that often get forgotten in a busy day. Also, I have found that I often get some of my most creative inspiration either during or just after my Quiet Time, where my mind is given time to simply be. There are many other benefits that you will find that will be unique to you.
Week 3 Day 1 Actions
Begin practising Quiet Time every day for 5 minutes. Turn your phone off, sit, stare and allow yourself to be still. Enjoy knowing that your mind is healing, calming and restoring itself!
