Welcome to day 4 of the Self Mastery Series; today we are going to be examining your attitude towards failure.

We all fail

All of us. So, what are we so scared of? As well as the fear of death, the fear of failure is the most prevalent fear that I see in my daily life today from people. I do not buy this. I am here to suggest an alternative. Make friends with failure, learn from it, caress it, love it, welcome it and know that it is one of the most powerful aspects in your life.

We do not like to make mistakes. It hurts to mess up, to come up short and to feel pain. I am not suggesting that we need to enjoy the act of failure, however, it is our attitude towards it that is the hidden treasure. The athlete in the gym who pushes to failure when lifting, will see the best growth. The parent who fails and fails and makes constant mistakes can become the most profound and inspiring of role models. But only if you do not run from it.

This is going to take some work, as we seem to be allergic to failure, but do not lose heart! Every Saturday over the next few weeks we will be examining failure and looking at how not only can you tolerate it, you will be able to utilise it as one of the most potent and useful tools in your from scratch lifestyle.

Day 4 actions

Think about your attitude towards failure. Do you enjoy it? Can you see any way of benefitting form it? Jot some initial ideas down and be honest, you wont regret it.
